The Vert Clarinet Quartet formed in Valencia, Spain in 2000. It is named in honor of composer Juan Vert Carbonell known for such popular works as “The Legend of the Kiss.” Influenced by classical, contemporary, jazz, popular music, Vert’s interpretations have aroused interest in a variety of audiences.
Vert is often featured in Provincial Council of Valencia chamber music series and they have performed on Radio Televisión Valenciana. They have been presented at the Carcaixent Professional Music Conservatory, University of Alicante, the Ministry of Culture of Cantabria, and at the Palau de la Música de Valencia.
Vert actively promotes the creation of original works for clarinet quartet. They have commissioned, premiered, and recorded new works from more than 18 composers. The insistence on always presenting new and original repertoire, the effort made to achieve the highest instrumental quality, and the rigor with which the various interpretive styles work together make this quartet a reference formation in the current panorama of contemporary Spanish creation.
