Barbara Teti, Guitarist
Barbara Teti started taking guitar lessons under the mentorship of Master Agostino Valente, graduating from the Conservatory “Casella” at L’Aquila. Afterwards, she got the Diploma Accademico di II Livello (II Level Academic Degree) from the Conservatory “Verdi” at Milan. She attended masterclasses with Goran Listes, Thimo Korhonen, Pepe Romero, and David Russell. Later she perfected her technique with Eliot Fisk attending, among others, several courses at the “Accademia Chigiana” at Siena, in Granada, Vienna, and Salzburg. Thanks to a scholarship from the “Conservatorio di Milano” she further improved with José Luis Rodrigo at the “Conservatorio Superior de Madrid”. She earned a degree in Liberal Arts with an anthropological-musical thesis about Brasilian popular music, after six months of research and field work in Rio de Janeiro thanks to a scholarship from the “Università degli Studi dell’Aquila”.
She held concerts as a solo artist, in chamber music and orchestra formation, offering most of all Spanish and Italian 19th and 20th century music. In addition to her concert activity she is also committed to teaching as a guitar teacher in public and private schools in Italy and Spain. She currently teaches at the Torroba Conservatory in Madrid. She has recorded a CD dedicated to the figure of the Spanish composer, Francisco Tá rrega.
