Pianist Petros Bouras was born in Athens, Greece. At the age of seven he began his piano studies and in 2006 he received his diploma from the Musical Horizons Conservatory with exceptional grade. In July 2006 he attended classes in the International Summer Musical Academy of Alsace (Musicalta). He was accepted by Trinity College of Music for a Master of Performance in the class of Professor Yonty Solomon. Petros has attended various seminars by great piano soloists including France Clidat, Ivo Pogorelich and Bernard Ringeissen.
As an international performer Petros has been a concerto soloist with the Greek National Orchestra. He has delivered numerous recitals and chamber music concerts in the USA, Switzerland, Germany, UK, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Armenia, Luxembourg and Poland. He recently became the first Greek pianist to perform on Gulangyu, the piano island of China, giving four concerts of different repertoire. He has concertized around the world with well-known Mezzo Soprano Alexandra Gravas.
Petros, always interested in expressing himself through different genres, became a member of the Oticons Orchestra, where he performed with film composer Shigeru Umebayashi and conductor Dirk Brosse. He is a member of StarWound, a well-known Anglophone Greek band, which introduced the music genre of ‘rock cabaret’ in Greece.
